Arthropod Control
Arthropods, insects, arachnids, centipedes and crustaceans are of specific concern in vector control (except crustaceans) because some of them are vectors of disease, or are venomous and have a negative affect on human well being. The groups of insects contains vectors such as mosquitoes, flies, lice and fleas that can transmit disease; cockroaches that can cause allergies, that may lead to asthma, as well as venomous or stinging insects such as wasps and bees.
Arachnids, such as ticks and mites can transmit a variety of diseases, and the venomous part of the group—spiders and scorpions can harm people with their venom.
Our aim is to provide information on control and prevention that will help the public to reduce the negative interaction with arthropods and be armed with the best information available. See the Vector ID Information.
